Art needed from Bradford pupils
Have you heard about the new initiative in Bradford? Culture Fusion is a new state of the art building in the centre of Bradford that will welcome groups of children, young people and adults from all over the District, around the country and across the world. The initiative is led by the YMCA, but Culture Fusion will be home to a number of different organisations and youth services, including the Schools Linking Network and the Peace Museum’s education team.
Culture Fusion wants to showcase the artistic talents of Bradford Metropolitan District’s young people and would like to display images and artwork produced by them around the building. Would your school like to get involved? It is an amazing opportunity to get your pupils’ work seen by the general public and displayed in a fantastic setting.
We want works of art that reflect the theme of diversity, equality, Bradford as a place of people coming together, international links, multi-faith communities and peace and friendship. Any art work that represents pupil voice would also be great as would anything with an international sporting, or Olympic theme (for later in the academic year).
All work for consideration should be sent to The Peace Museum’s City Hall office at:
The Peace Museum
City Hall
Centenary Square
Bradford BD1 1HY
Any piece of artwork, any size, will be considered from any Key Stage and could be something already completed or something that is yet to be undertaken (we are keen to rotate works of art through out the year).
If you would like someone to come into school to discuss this further or to initiate work with pupils by leading a taught session in school with a History/Citizenship/SMSC focus, our Education and Outreach Officer, Diane Hadwen, is available to do so Free of Charge.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
