20 Objects of Peace: Mothers for Peace Quilt

The Peace Museum has launched a crowdfunding campaign to help build The Peace Museum of the Future. As part of the campaign 20 ambassadors have chosen an object from our collection to talk about its importance in the history of peace and why it is significant to them.
Beryl Milner one of our Trustees has chosen this Mothers for Peace Quilt as she was a member of the group.

“This quilt was stitched to mark 10 years of bridge building for peace. The work of Mothers for Peace enabled women from Britain, America and the then Soviet Union and Soviet bloc to meet, make connections and share their desire for a peaceful future for all children. Working for a peaceful world remains necessary and the quilt being in The Peace Museum collection reminds us of what has been done and can inspire us and future generations to do so.”
