Past event February 2021

As part of Peace OUT our project exploring LGBTQ+ activism and peace, we’re doing a Show + Tell event to celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month in Bradford.

Hosted by The Peace Museum, the event will be a casual show and tell where we’ll tell you a little bit about our collection, then open up the floor for you to share any LGBTQ+ objects you may have.

We’re calling out for LGBTQ+ people in Bradford and their allies to bring objects which tell the stories of your queer life. This could be anything from: photos, event flyers, badges, souvenirs, letters, placards, banners or ANYTHING which helps tell a story.

We’ll be sharing some of our favourite objects from The Peace Museum collection which tell the stories of those who have peacefully campaigned for LGBTQ rights and explore the impact the LGBTQ+ community has had on peacemaking.

The event is a safe space to talk about LGBTQ+ issues and there is no pressure to come with an object, you can simply listen along and enjoy. The museum is currently working on it’s first Equality Action Plan, so we’ll be telling you about our future plans too.
