PAST- temporary exhibition- Thursday 12th July – Friday 31st August 2018

This exhibition depicts the experience of working as an independent artist in the Calais Jungle October 2015 – September 2016.

Some of the artwork made in Calais has been developed further and will be presented as an installation in City Park on August 18th 2018. A public artwork made by the public, Paper People Bradford is a piece of art that aspires to global community cohesion although the finished artwork may speak to you in different ways. The exhibition at The Peace Museum hopes to give a background as to how and why the Paper People artwork came about.

“I went to Calais believing that someone there would want to paint and if I could find that one person then I would be useful. What I found was a need for men and boys to make art on a scale that I’d never encountered before.”
