#PMCreativeChallenge Week 5: Badges!
This week we are looking at badges for The Peace Museum Creative Challenge. We have over 200 badges in our collection including the first pottery CND badges made by Eric Austen.
We often pick up badges as souvenirs throughout our lives, from holidays or museums and galleries. We wear them to show other people about our interests, music taste and beliefs. We sometimes get them on our birthdays and at times of celebration! Have a look around your house and see how many badges you can find. You can use these as inspiration for designing your own badges.
Perhaps you might like to design some ‘lockdown’ badges to celebrate your achievements, how ever small, and practice some self-kindness, such as:
- Had a shower
- Hung up my washing
- Got dressed
- Brushed my teeth
- Played with my cat
- Baked a cake
- Called a friend
Think of some of your own!
Or you might want to design some badges to represent things you love… For example:
- Bradford City
- Cats
- Strawberries
- Dancing
- Swimming
- Sunshine
- Your friends
What do you love?
You will need card, paper, pencil, felt tips or colouring pencils, sellotape and safety pins.
You can also make badges out of bottle tops, fabric, bits of wood, buttons and old badges you don’t wear anymore.
Pin all your badges to your favourite jacket and wear it all the time to remind yourself of how well you are doing. Hopefully it won’t be too long until we can hug ours friends again!
